Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2007 security is not allowing me to view my faxes. What should I do?
If you can't view your inbound fax PDF or TIFF attachments, you might not have an application for the associated file type. You also may need to change your Outlook Security settings.
- In Outlook, click on Tools and Options.
- Select Attachment Handling and ensure that Security Mode is set to default.
- If the Security Mode is set to something different, contact your systems administrator or IT support as this may be a company security setting within your domain.
You should now be able to see the attachment. Note: Be mindful of suspicious or malicious attachments that will be accessible by the user once this block is disabled.
How do I format my Office Outlook 2007 messages to be compatible with Fax2Mail?
In Microsoft Outlook:
- Select Tools, then Options.
- In the resulting dialog box, click the Mail Format tab.
- At the top of this tab, find "Send in this message format."
- Select either HTML or Plain Text.
- Click Okay.
