Conferencing: Int'l Coordination Female: With this race, this sporting event actually occurs a long way from the audience so we need a medium that enables us to bring a sport to the people. We needed a conference call platform system 40 hours before we started the race and we contacted Premiere. Male 1: This race was about to begin. We only had a couple of days to deal with this huge problem of communications. I had a phone call from Clipper Ventures and we were able to speak out a brilliant solution for them. In fact, we were able to get the solution set up and fully-operational in under 48 hours. The Velux 5 Oceans is very unique in its own right specifically because you've only got one person. One skipper is responsible for everything and at the same time try to stay on track, on course, and ahead of their competitors. It's very challenging. Female: In an environment where the skipper is constantly demanded upon, it's very difficult to make them prioritize in terms of communication because always that priority is keeping the boat as high performance as possible. So we needed a tool that would enable us to integrate all of the communications in a simplified way, and that is why a telephone conference platform is an essential part of the race's communication strategy. Male 1: The skippers have been in the middle of the Southern Ocean, on the phone to media from Tokyo, New York. London, and Sydney all at the same time in the middle of nowhere. Male 2: It's incredible how we can talk in the middle of nothing of the Pacific with the office, with a friend. Male 3: I get it all done that one time. Virtually I don’t object at all to it. You know if they say they want to talk to me at 10:00, I say, "Fine, 10:00. I'll be there" because I know that will be it because that's going to get spread around. Male 1: So if we can do this for these sailors, for these skippers circumnavigate in the globe, there is absolutely no limit to what we can achieve. We're able to custom suit solutions to almost any problem no matter how difficult.
