Employee Spotlight: PGi’s Lauren Weatherly Makes CRN’s “100 People You Don’t Know But Should” List

Here at PGi, we are heavily invested in cultivating a culture of support and encouragement for our incredible employees. We want to celebrate the success of our employees, and today we are excited to put the employee spotlight on the talented Lauren Weatherly who has been selected as one of CRN’s annual “100 People You Don’t Know But Should” list.

CRN’s annual “100 People You Don’t Know But Should” list is designed to recognize the “unsung heroes” across the nation who are dedicated to making channel partnerships work. As the Senior Director of Channel Marketing at PGi, Lauren has committed herself to cultivating and growing those essential channel partnerships that help make PGi successful. Since Lauren Weatherly is clearly someone you should get to know, we’ve asked her to answer a few questions about herself and her role at PGi.

Tell us a little bit about your career before PGi.

I worked for Windstream for 15 years prior to PGi. I started when it was a small CLEC called TriVergent which grew through M&A to become NuVox and was then acquired by Windstream. I held positions in product marketing, sales training & enablement, channel and alliance marketing and field marketing. My last title was Director, Channel, Field and Alliance Marketing. I’ve been at PGi for 18 months.

At PGi, what has been your biggest accomplishment?

Growing our partners engagement with PGi. As a conferencing and collaboration provider, we are quite often not part of the partner’s core service offering but rather a value add. Our goal from a marketing perspective is to share insights that drive awareness of collaboration and the value it brings to their solution portfolio along with the revenue opportunity that exists within the market. We’ve seen extensive growth with one of our top partners this year, which is very exciting.

Can you describe what the partner channel does?

We work with telecom consultants, VARs, MSPs, IT service providers, technology distributors and resellers to sell our solutions along with the core technology services they offer. We also partner with Telecom Carriers globally to provider our solutions to their customers.

Why is the partner channel so important to PGi’s success?

Our partner network gives us access to thousands of sellers across the globe. Rather than rely solely on our direct sellers, our partners give us access to all of their sellers and partners and all of the customer relationships they currently have today.

What do you do for fun in your spare time?

I love to play golf, tennis, and ski and be a mom! If I wasn’t in telecom, I would love to be an interior designer and do it for fun in my spare time for friends.
